The Red Room at elearning@luton has been transformed over the past month into a new state of the art teaching and learning space. The room, at the front of the elearning@luton building, has had its original metal “pod” desks removed and replaced with ergonomic desking that runs around the parameter of the room and hosts the space’s 16x iMac G4s. The space at the centre of the room is now a flexible teaching and learning space equipped with modern low level seating and two SmartTables (multi-touch interactive tables). Two new screens have been installed in the space – one large wall mounted projection screen and a second 3D plasma screen that will be used in conjunction with the centre’s new 3D filming capabilities. High –tech lighting completes the look and ensures that the room engages learners and provides a “classroom of the future” education experience. Centre Manager Emma Darcy said “We are delighted that The Red Room has been upgraded to meet the ever-evolving needs of the learners who visit elearning@luton. We have already had a number of schools and teachers use the space and comment on how conducive to learning the environment is.” |
