Andy Pitts Learning Space - elearning@luton

The Andy Pitts Television and Recording Studio - Maximum Capacity 45 (with Tricaster Green Screen Television Studio Facilities, Recording Studio, Motorised Lighting Rig, 6m x 6m Screen and Projector)

The Andy Pitts Learning Space is the largest room in elearning@luton. Fully air conditioned and designed to make the most of the building’s curved roof, the room has a direct multicore link through to The Music Technology Suite allowing for both large and small-scale recordings.

A multi-function space, The Andy Pitts Learning Space features a 6m x 6m projection screen allowing the space to be used as a cinema. The large room can also operate as a “green screen” television studio and is fitted with a Tricaster filming system which allows for the creation of “virtual sets” and can superimpose still images and video footage behind actors/ presenters. An autocue is also available.

The Andy Pitts Television Studio also features the air conditioned Live Room.

The Live Room
The Music Technology Suite and The Live Room combine to create a recording studio with professional quality equipment, linked by video and talkback.

The spaces can be hired for private use. Hardware includes: Mackie d8b 72-channel mixing desk, Hammerfall sdp 24in 24out soundcard, 2 Behringer composer pros, 2 Focusrite Liquid channels, 2 TC Powercore Firewires, a range of SE Electronics, Shure and AKG microphones including AKG C414Bs and an additional Mac recording console in The Live Room with Notation MIDI keyboard, M-Audio ProjectMix with a choice of Cubase, Nuendo, Logic Pro 7 or Pro-Tools sequencing software.

The Live Room also has a large vision panel and a cable connection box that allows it to be used as an isolated control room for the television studio, modelling the way that professional television studios operate.
