| "Magic Planet" is here... |
elearning @ luton has just taken delivery of "Magic Planet" a revolutionary teaching tool for Geography. "Magic Planet" is a virtual globe which allows pupils to view a rotating image of the earth's surface.
The globe can be programmed to display the path of the past year's hurricanes, show carbon emissions from countries across the world and, at the touch of a button, drain the water from the planet's oceans to show tectonic plate activity. elearning @ luton became only the second City Learning Centre in the country to view "Magic Planet" earlier this year and the centre placed an order immediately. Previously, "Magic Planet" has only been available at places such as NASA and EPCOT in Disneyland Florida. Following training for elearning @ luton staff, "Magic Planet" will be available for Luton schools to hire free of charge or use at elearning @ luton from the beginning of the Spring Term. |
