Poverty is defined as when you do not have enough money to get by, or it can mean not having essential equipment such as a cooker or fridge.
29% of children in Luton are living in poverty, in some areas of the town this rises to 45%
Spare Change is an online booklet containing information and advice about the struggle with poverty in the UK, including opinions, poems and sketches from young people.
This booklet was designed by young people based on local research on young people's experience of living in poverty in Luton. The booklet will be useful for young people aged 13 plus. It could be used in schools and colleges to promote discussion. It also contains information on signposting to useful information.
